Raising Our Voices: African Women's Forum - 25.07.15

This event will provide African women a platform for discussion, sharing, networking and the opportunity to help shape African Diaspora women’s role in development interventions.

The day will explore:

  • Violence Against Women & Girls and sexual & reproductive health & rights, including female genital mutilation and child marriage
  • Diaspora led development programmes
  • The role of communication in shaping social change in Africa and the Diaspora.

Programme Outline:

Session 1: Diaspora Doing Development: Strengths, Successes and Challenges

Session 2: How Disapora organisations can shape sustainable development

Session 3: Using communication to support social change in Africa and the Diaspora

  • African social enterprises/businesses, students, professionals and networks working on FGM and related issues, and development issues in Africa.
