The German and Ethiopian duo Munit and Jörg from Addis Ababa created only with guitar and singing his unique Ethio-Acoustic Soul, which is already influenced an entire generation of young musicians in Addis Ababa, and provides the soundtrack for an Ethiopia on the Move. Since then, the duo got together in 2007 in Addis, MUNIT and Jörg playing before thousands of people in the jazz clubs of the Ethiopian capital, on countless festivals in the country - and around the world.Toured the two already to Egypt, South Africa, Spain, USA and Germany.
The duo's repertoire combines the diverse influences into their own compositions or new interpretations of classics. From Ethiopian children's songs to Ethio-jazz standards of the Ethiopian jazz icon Mulatu Astatke verbindetdas duo tradition and modernity as at the time hardly anyone else in Ethiopia. Munit singing - accompanied by Jörg on guitar - partly in Amharic, partly in English - songs prevents the emergence of a compelling, positive, energetic mood.
