The 12th London African Music Festival presents Joyce Moholoagae and Safricanto (South Africa)
The 10-piece Safricanto is led by founder and vocal director, Joyce Moholoagae, a world class South African singer who studied at London's Royal Academy of Music, soloist with both the South African Gospel Singers and The Vocal Ensemble of Africa.
The 6 singers and a 4 musicians of SAfricanto features Joyce Moholoagae and singers and musicians from Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia, Swaziland, Zambia and South Africa.
Joyce has re-arranged some classic songs for this festival appearance in their first London show since their sensational performance as part of the BT River of Music Festival, held in London as part of the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Their unique musical harmonies, vivid melodies and rhythmic grooves conjured the rich tapestry of Southern African culture. Expect soulful harmonies in the grand tradition of South African music.
