H.I.M 123rd Birthday Celebrations At Fairfield House - 23-26.07.15

Fairfield House is an Italian style villa in Newbridge Bath. The residential home of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie 1 during his exile from Ethiopia from 1936 - 1941. In 1958, the Emperor left the Fairfield House to the City of Bath for use by senior citizens.

The Trustees and Friends of Fairfield House have organised 3 days of events in honour of His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I's 123rd Birthday on Thurs 23rd July 2015.

Day 1 - 14:00-20:00: kicks off with Groundation at Fairfield House on Thursday 23rd July.

Day 2 - 13:00-18:00: involves a tour of the former home of His Majesty and an opportunity to view the documentary "Footsteps of His Majesty" followed by a Q&A session by filmmaker and trustee Dr Shawn 'Naphtali' Sobers on Friday 24th July.

Day 3 - 21:00-3:00: Our celebrations culminate in a fundraiser for Fairfield House on Saturday 25th July at the Malcolm X Centre. Macka B will be performing on stage, with support from Bristol artiste Sister Talibah and Poetry from Ras Moqapi Selassie. Sounds on the night will be provided by the stalwarts of Roots Sound Systems in the UK - Wassifa, Sir Coxsone, and Baron. Also representing Bristol Negus Melody and Roots Inspiration. A night not to be missed.
