Design Africa 2015: Headwrap Workshop - 09.07.15

Nkiruka is pleased to announce that it will be delivering a number of art, crafts and fashion workshops as part of the 2015 Streatham Festival!! Come and visit our POP UP SEWING STUDIO at the Tate Streatham Library on 8th and 9th July 2015 for a series of African inspired design & sewing workshops!

You will use the strong and vibrant colours of African textile prints, fabrics and weaves! Learn how to introduce a hint of bold African design, geometric shapes and style into your home or summer wardrobe!

Four workshops are on offer this year:

> Make an African fabric cushion - 08 July 2015
> Make an African fabric tote bag - 08 July 2015
> Make an African fabric infinity scarf - 09 July 2015
> The art of head wrapping - 09 July 2015

Head scarves and wraps can be a beautiful, stylish and creative accessory for any occasion! In this workshop, you will learn the basic skills and techniques of head wrapping. Using African fabrics, you will also learn the significance of different types of fabrics, symbols, the energy of colour choice, patterns and various head wrap styles. Each attendee will leave with a beautiful head wrap!

The workshop fee (£15) includes refreshments and a head wrap of your choice to take away!

This workshop is being delivered as part of the 2015 The Streatham Festival and is being supported by the Streatham Tate Centre.
