AWiB Presents Her Gems: Valuable, Useful, And Beautiful - 02.07.15

Posted: Jun, 18th 2015 Contributor: Bilen Shifferaw,

Once a month the Association of Women in Business AWiB hold their monthly networking event. This July is their event to showcase their AWiBers - the Bold and the Beautiful! This month they present three magnificent women who let us in their secret.

Where failure is not an option. We present to you three magnificent women to let us in on their secret.

Tewobesta Alemayehu: an uplifting story told: a successful business woman-- Dell Computer Representative and dealer-- Tewobesta is a devout orthodox Christian who has been married for over 30 years to a devout Muslim. All involved: family and friends are celebrating this union. This is something the world needs to know and talking about character, leadership and peace…AWiB wants to bring it to you.

Amakelech Lulu, Owner and CEO of Gishen Pharmacy. This woman is not only successful, building an Empire, but her ethical standard as how medicine must be distributed including educating patients about what they are taking into their body, her business is based on trust and putting the patient’s  interest above profit. Her resilience, integrity and love for her community and humanity are unparalleled.

As a tradition, every July AWiB introduces the next president to the public. We consider all our presidents our Gems otherwise they wouldn’t have been considered. This year we introduce to you Nebat Abbas, 2016 President. Nebat Abbas is a determined personality whose middle name could be “commitment”. AWiB is confident she will take us a notch higher and we want you to know her intimately for she would be talking what she is made of and what she could do for you and all AWiB friends and well-wishers. Nebat is an HR specialist whose CV includes the most prominent companies in the city.

All these three Gems have plenty of lessons and laughter to share with us.

  • Who are they? What do they do in life and how do they do it?
  • What are they passionate about?
  • What are the success factors in their individual lives?
  • What challenges have they experienced and how did they overcome them?
  • Which personal triumphs do they celebrate?
  • How do they contribute to their communities?
  • What’s their vision for the future?
  • What do they want to be remembered for? Their legacy? What do they want written on their tombstone?
