Abstract Ethiopian artist Julie Mehretu takes part in the fifth American Artist Lecture Series, a partnership between Art in Embassies, Tate Modern and US Embassy London.
This series seeks to bring the greatest living modern and contemporary American artists to the UK.
Julie Mehretu was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, as an artist she is best known for her densely layered abstract paintings and prints. Now currently living and working in New York City where she has her own studio.
