AFWL 2014: Day 1 #StreetStyle

The annual ‘Africa Fashion Week London’ event returned to a new venue at Olympia, promising to be bigger and better. The first day event (Friday 8th August) promised to showcase some stunning African inspired creations from 29 fashion designers. As well as capturing highlights from the days runway we managed to catch up with some fashionistas out there who came to impress.

Tai from Zimbabwe who attended her first ever AFWL event. Fusing african inspired fashion with high street style, wearing a headscarf using a South African fabric, Ghanaian Kente fabric belt, and African inspired jewellery.

 

 

Triple threat ladies from Mali who came down to support their friend Mia by Mia Nisbet, wearing Angelina print dress. The Angelina print was extremely popular with the ladies at AFWL.

 

 

Husband and wife duo Usi and Sam Egbuson from Nigeria. Wearing matching print outfits made especially for them in Nigeria, with gold embroidery and embellishment.
