Bamba Nazar is back with his 3rd edition of African Homecoming. An event that has made it’s mark over the years as a day long celebration of the African continent, it’s diaspora, it’s people, their achievements and culture. Expect fresh Aestetics in art, fashion and music that reflect a new Africa. One that is forward thinking, buzzing with excitement and confidence.
PROGRAME
16.00- 20.00 - New African Market in the Tolhuistuin Park
New African Market Place, a collage of Afrocentric design, art and fashion. Our BBQ grill will be sizzling hot, ready to serve all things “halal” smokey and sweet. You’re welcome to hang out, shop, socialize, build and bathe in the sun.
20.30- 22.30 - The Wangari Maathai project in the Tuinzaal
Named after the great Wangari Maathia this platform was created for artists, writers, directors, designers, entrepreneurs and visionaries to present their concepts to an audience of it’s peers. After taking votes, the best presentation will gain financial support through a crowd funding initiative.
22:30 - Tabanka and after party in the Grote Zaal
Their name is Tabanka, a six piece dynamite formation from Cabo Verde that plays Funana. One of the most contagious forms of party music you will ever hear in your entire life! We’ll make sure we’ve got the fire department on stand by cause this band is guaranteed to set the roof ablaze!
After Tabanka we’ve got the Amplified Africa after party with Dj’s Owen Densa, Auspre and the host of African Homecoming Bamba Nazar who will spin the very best in Afro House, kuduru, Afro tunes, Coupe decale and everything in between.
