African Diaspora Investment Symposium - 04.08.14

Posted: Apr, 7th 2015

The Developing Markets Associates, Homestrings, the Small Enterprise Assistance Fund and the International diaspora Engagement Alliance invite you to the first African Diaspora Investment Symposium held on 4th August 2014 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington DC.

The Symposium is comprised of two events:

  • Morning event (general admission): The morning event will gather change makers from the global Diaspora, the private sector, civil society and non-profit organisations to engage in discussions on how to leverage the tremendous potential of the African Diaspora through investment and entrepreneurship. New programs will be announced that engage the African Diaspora to play a significant role in supporting economic growth across Africa.  The focus of this event will be on sharing insights from current Diaspora initiatives and investment platforms and will be open to the general public.

  • Afternoon event (accredited investors only): Led by DMA and Homestrings, the afternoon event will for the first time provide an opportunity for US based Africans in the Diaspora to actively invest in pre-qualified opportunities from across the continent. This symposium event is differentiated from other investment fora by its transactional focus, which will directly lead to new investment into a number of African economies. Audience members will be able to make investment commitments, live, using the Homestrings investment platform, Homestrings.com.  Members of this platform are all deemed pre-qualified investors by the SEC (the US regulator) and are actively seeking investment opportunities in a range of sectors.

To register to attend Parts 1, 2 or all of the African Diaspora Investment Symposium, please sign up using folm below:
