Posted: Jan, 3rd 2019 Contributor: Bilen Shifferaw,

Presented by The Anglo-Ethiopian Society.

Ilana Tahan and Dorothea McEwan

Meet at 5:15pm in the foyer of the British Library (maximum of 15 places).

Ilana Tahan, Lead Curator of Hebrew and Christian Orient Studies at the British Library, will introduce the event and talk a little bit about the collection of Ethiopian manuscript material in the British Library. She will show three or four Ethiopian manuscripts and talk about them.

Dorothea McEwan will then show one illuminated manuscript book and explain some selected pictures from the book.

The books will be put out on display on soft cushions so that people will be able to inspect the illustrations more closely.

Entrance is free but numbers on the visit are very limited, so please reserve your place soon to avoid disappointment.

As a result of the high demand for tickets, the event is being repeated on 25 January 2019.
