Ethiopian Aims to Eradicate Illegal Wildlife Trade

Telegraph Journalist Martin Fletcher was given an exclusive behind the scene look at the stock pile of poached ivory currently in storage in Addis Ababa Ethiopia. The vault of the Ethiopian Wildlife Conservation Authority contains up to 6.3 tonnes of ivory which is the eqivilant of 600 elephants.  

Almost all the ivory has been poached elsewhere in Africa, and seized from Chinese nationals smuggling ivory back home through Addis Ababa’s international airport. Read More....

This week an International Summit is being held in London by the UK government on illegal wildlife trade. The UK is calling together global leaders for a major conference to help eradicate illegal wildlife trade and better protect the world’s most iconic species from the threat of extinction.
