Posted: Apr, 7th 2015 Contributor: Bilen Shifferaw,

An Evening of Glitz and Glamour and a Celebration of UK Black History Month with Live Music, Key Note Speeches, Exclusive Short Film Screenings to be held at the Prestigious British Academy for Film and Television Arts BAFTA.

Black History Month, known also as “African-American History Month” in America, is an annual observance which takes place in the United States and Canada during the month of February and throughout October in the United Kingdom. It is a tribute for all of the important people and events that have taken place throughout the history of the African diaspora.

This year of 2014 - CREATING ROLE MODELS aim to bring you not only one of the most anticipated Black History month celebrations, but also the launch of the first Black History event of this kind to take place at the prestigious London BAFTA, 195 Piccadilly and thereafter to be held annually.

Creating Role Models feel it is time that we, as individuals, celebrate our culture and heritage in opulent fashion. This event will be an exclusive BLACK TIE event. Expect Glitz and Glamour with inspirational talks, spoken word and poetry performances, live music, an exclusive short film screening and also an award ceremony where we will be celebrating some of our individuals who have contributed selflessly to the Afro Caribbean community throughout the year 2013/14. To mark this momentous occasion, the event will be commissioned with a brand new Website, to include exclusive interviews with all our contributors, fabulous awards, raffles and competitions.

And to stimulate your mind and knowledge on black history.... a trivia!

This will not only be a great opportunity to network, but also a chance to fashion parade those elegant glad rags, polish the dust off your shoes and really have a great evening with us at Creating Role Models. This event is indeed somewhere you can bring your parents and children alike and celebrate together in style.

This fabulous occasion will be filmed for future broadcast and promoted globally.

Creating Role Models will also be launching Fredi ‘KRUGA’ Nwaka’s first book ‘IM A SURVIVOR’ in support of his campaign in helping to give sexually abused young people a voice. He will be signing copies on the night.
