African Writes Festival: The Caine Prize 2014 Conversation - 11.07.14

Africa Writes, The Royal African Society's annual literature and book festival in association with The British Library, returns for a third year. Taking place from Friday 11  to Sunday 13 July.

With Diane Awerbuck (South Africa), Efemia Chela (Ghana/Zambia), Tendai Huchu (Zimbabwe), Billy Kahora (Kenya), Okwiri Oduor (Kenya). Chaired by Delia Jarrett-Mcauley, award-winning writer and judge for the 2007 Caine Prize.

Each year, the Caine Prize for African Writing maps new directions in contemporary African writing. Join the five authors short-listed for the 2014 Prize for an in-depth discussion of their stories within the context of contemporary African literature. This seminar explores the shortlisted writers’ literary influences, their take on the development of present-day African narratives and their hopes and aspirations for the future.
